Don Donovan RIP
It is with great sadness that the Everton Former Players’ Foundation reports the passing of Don Donovan at the age of 83
Donal ‘Don’ Donovan was born in Cork in December 1929 and joined Everton in 1951 making his debut in the Second Division match at Home to Sheffield Wednesday 25th August 1951.
He was part of the Everton team in 1954 that gained promotion back to the First Division playing in the Away game against Oldham that won Everton’s place back among the top English clubs.
He played 187 times for the club and scoring twice before moving onto Grimsby Town in 1958
The thoughts and condolences of all of the Everton Former Players’ Foundation go to his wife Milly, his family and friends at this time.
